The epidermal growth factor receptor is a transmembrane protein that is a receptor for members of the epidermal growth factor family of extracellular protein ligands. The EGFR subfamily of receptor tyrosine kinases comprises four members: EGFR, HER2 , HER3 and HER4 . Within the ECD, human EGFR shares 88% aa sequence identity with mouse and rat EGFR. EGFR binds a subset of the EGF family ligands, including EGF, amphiregulin, TGF-alpha, betacellulin, epiregulin, HB-EGF, and epigen. EGFR signaling regulates multiple biological functions including cell proliferation, differentiation, motility, and apoptosis.

Source	Recombinant Biotinylated Human EGFR/HER1 Protein is expressed from Expi293 with His tag and Avi tag at the C-terminal. It contains Leu25-Ser645.
Molecular Weight	The protein has a predicted MW of 71.5 kDa. Due to glycosylation, the protein migrates to 90-120 kDa based on Tris-Bis PAGE result.
Purity	> 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
Activity	SPR data: Biotinylated Human EGFR, His-Avi Tag captured on CM5 Chip via Anti-his antibody can bind Human EGF, No Tag with an affinity constant of 0.64 nM as determined in SPR assay.
Endotoxin	< 1.0 EU per 1μg of the protein by the LAL method.
Formulation	Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in PBS (pH 7.4). Normally 5% trehalose is added as protectant before lyophilization.
Reconstitution	Centrifuge tubes before opening. Reconstituting to a concentration more than 100 μg/mL` is recommended (usually we use 1 mg/mL solution for lyophilization). Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water.

The products are shipped with ice pack and can be stored at -20℃ for 1 year.

2-7 days, 2 to 8 °C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
3 months, -20 °C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.

Recommend to aliquot the protein into smaller quantities for optimal storage. Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
