促红细胞生成素（EPO）是一种糖蛋白激素，主要因其在红细胞生成中的作用而闻名，在红细胞形成中，负责刺激红系祖细胞的增殖和分化。只有在EPO存在的情况下才能将CFU-E（集落形成单位红细胞）细胞分化为红细胞。成年哺乳动物EPO的生理水平主要由肾脏维持，而胎儿或新生儿哺乳动物的EPO水平由肝脏维持。EPO还可以发挥各种非造血活性，包括平滑肌的血管化和增殖、缺氧时的神经保护以及对某些B细胞的刺激。
本品重组人EPO含有166个氨基酸残基，HEK293细胞表达。以冻干粉形式提供，具有高活性、高纯度及无标签等特点。
