Nectin-1, also known as poliovirus receptor-associated Protein 1 (PVRL1), the herpes virus entry mediator C (HveC), is a member of the nectin family. Nectin-1 is a widespread adhesion molecule in tissues that binds to virion-glycoprotein D (gD) and mediates the entry of herpes simplex virus (HSV) and pseudorabies virus (PRV).
